What is the future of the Mormon church, and what is the responsibility of stewardship from modern leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the face of current political pressures? We want to be mindful of the solemn and serious responsibility placed on the leaders of the LDS Church, that they not be tempted to go against Joseph Smith to appease modern political pressures, as to do so is a fate described in D&C 121:
17 But those who cry transgression do it because they are the servants of sin, and are the children of disobedience themselves.
22 It had been better for them that a millstone had been hanged about their necks, and they drowned in the depth of the sea.
