After completing this film, I had to take a few days before watching it back. I’m sure my fellow filmmakers can relate. I wanted to watch it with fresh eyes and open heart and mind. When I finally watched it all the way through at its finalized state - I just felt overwhelmed with gratefulness for these two incredible people and for their willingness to bring us all the way to Portugal to spend nearly a week with them to document this unforgettable time in their lives. I literally couldn’t believe all of it actually happened. Rob and I could have only dreamed of documenting weddings like this for such amazing, kindhearted people 8 years ago. It felt like such a pipe dream back then.
Travis and Lauren are wedding filmmakers themselves, and this was our first time working with other filmmakers. I knew how much they valued their story and wanted it to be told well and in a way that was true to them. That was all I wanted for this film. From being randomly connected through a mentorship program, to Instagram friends that were always cheering each other on, to experiencing one of life’s most precious moments together and making amazing memories in one of the most beautiful places on planet earth, to now being lifelong friends with plans to visit each other - we are just eternally grateful for all of it. We love you guys so much!
