👋 The all new 2022 Lexus IS500 is out! But is the new Lexus ISF what it's all cracked up to be? Can the Lexus IS500 overtake the legendary BME M3? Today I check out the 2022 Lexus IS500 to see what this car has to offer. I loved the original Lexus ISF with the naturally aspirated V8 in a smaller luxury sedan. Lexus no longer calls this the ISF, rather its just called the IS500. But this is still the F SPort version of the smallest Lexus sedan available with a big V8. This V8 is a 5.0L with over 470 HP. It looks stunning too! I will say I was expecting the new 2022 Lexus IS500 to be a lot more performance oriented. I really thought it would be on par with the BMW M3. But it really is just a normal Lexus IS that happens to have a V8 engine. The seats are the same as what the normal F Sport has, and the rest of the interior is the same too. It really is just a V8 powered Lexus IS. There is plenty of power from the engine and the transmission responds very well. So I like that aspect. The steering had a lot to be desired. It really wasn't that good with steering. It felt late in the turns and just too slow to respond. The handling itself was very flat, but there should be steering modes. The BMW M3 is a way better performance car than the Lexus IS500 and has so much more performance. But this is actually a bit cheaper. SO if you want a normal nice Lexus IS but with some good power, the Lexus IS500 is the car for you! Just don't expect this to be an actual performance sedan like an M3 or C63. I have an IS300 F Sport, and this is the same car, but with a V8. So maybe Lexus is did thing the idea of the ISF and just focusing on giving their normal IS a big engine. It's a cool car tho.
