This is, at long last, part 2 of my 500 subscriber special, my restored audio tribute for the original 1966-68 version of "it's a small world", my favorite attraction (past and present) at Disneyland. This audio tribute is synced to many pictures and video clips, which are from both from Disneyland Around the Seasons (720p) as well as many ameture films found mostly on YouTube. Many, but not all, of the audio tracks are the same ones used today, although there are a few differences. These include the original clock parade (1966-1997), the lack of Swedish vocals in the beginning of the Europe room (1966-2003), the original Laughing Nigerians (1964-c.1973) and underwater Mermaids audio (1966-1993, 2003-07), South African Jazz (1964-1993, 2003-14), Switzerland, and original German Band (both 1966-1993) instrumentals, the adult chorus in the Welcome room (1966-c.1972), the accapella effect in the Goodbye room (1966-1987), and original safety spiels (1964-c.,1976). And although there were a few other minor to moderate changes in the 70's and 80's (as well as 2008-present), as well as the complete removal of the original 1964/66 soundtrack in 1993-2002, in 2003 most of the original soundtracks were restored for Disneyland's 50th anniversary two years later, and thankfully most of those are still played to this day. As for the visuals, most of the overall structure of the ride is very similar. The track layout is exactly the same, and both the façade as well as most of the interior look similar (albeit a little darker for the latter) to today and how they've always been. Many scenes artwork has been remodeled over the years, including Scandinavia (1994), Italy (1996), Russia (1991), the entire Latin America room (1997-98), the entire South Pacific room (2001), the condensed Tahiti, Rainforest, and Papua New Guinea (2008), the entire finale (c.1979, 2008), and also all parts of the Welcome and Goodbye rooms (several times between c.1969-1999). And although there were a couple more changes in the 2008 refurbishment which I'm really not a fan of (the Disney characters and America room), the ride still remains my personal favorite ride in the entire park, and this original version also ranks high in the many triumphs of WED in the 60's. I'm sorry that this took so long to complete and upload, but I am still very thankful to all 500 of my subscribers for helping and encouraging me while I do my best to achieve and preserve as much as I can of the history of "it's a small world" and my other favorite parts of Disneyland as a whole. One last thing is that this video is also heavily inspired by someone else's recreation of another all time classic WED 1964-65 World's Fair attraction: the 1967-73 Carousel of Progress, part of the amazing New Tomorrowland of 1967 (also linked below). I hope you enjoy, and thank all of you again for 500 subscribers!
