One of the most common questions I've been asked is "Why did God allow me to be born gay/lgbt+ and then say in the Bible that it is a sin?" The Holy Spirit led me to John 9, which describes the story of a man who was born blind. Jesus told His disciples that this man was born blind so that the works of God might be displayed in him. That's the same answer that God is giving to you.
As a Christian overcoming same-sex attraction with every passing day, I am thankful for the different ways God has revealed Himself to me. I believe that I am on the verge of breakthrough in my life where I am stepping into the next level of God's plan completely free from lustful thoughts and any kind of sexual sin.

To anyone struggling with same-sex attraction or gender dysphoria:
John 3:6 says that the Spirit gives birth to spirit and the flesh gives birth to flesh. So focus on the things of the Spirit. Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is the first step. He is standing there with open arms. He isn't asking you to change anything about yourself, just come to Him as you are with the knowledge that He is all you need and desires the best for you. The second step is spiritual discipline. Praying, reading the Bible and worship consistently everyday. Doing this, you're just building a solid foundation, where you have a constant source of spiritual nourishment for your soul.
In addition, embrace God's grace. Ephesians 2:4-10. Our works don't save us so it is also our works that won't ultimately lead to our deliverance. It's solely the grace of God that leads to our deliverance. Embrace His grace and when you do that, know that God is lifting up your soul with Christ, raising you high above the things of this world and helping you live life with the knowledge that nothing done on this earth truly matters apart from living sold out for Christ. The shame you feel are attacks from the enemy against your identity and God-purposed destiny. Know for a fact that you are loved by God and that your sole identity is that you are a child of the Most High. 2 Corinthians 7:9-11 highlights the difference between godly sorrow and worldly sorrow. God has a purpose and plan for your life. I know it sounds cliché, but it's true. And there's nothing more fulfilling than living the life that God intended for you when He created you.
And last but not least, seek out a deliverance ministry that is Biblically-based. Vlad Savchuk on YouTube is one deliverance minister who I recommend. The weapons of our warfare have to be spiritual and overcoming same sex attraction and gender dysphoria is a spiritual fight. Read Ephesians 6:10-18, which talks about putting on the full armor of God. God fights our battles, but we have to be a part of the army and like every good soldier, wear the correct armor. As God fights for us, we continue marching forward and we do not retreat.
