Sovah Health has seen a significant rise in patients who have tested positive and are being treated for COVID-19 in our hospitals. Since our last update was provided on Wednesday, January 6, we had 51 COVID-19 positive patients. Since that update, we have fluctuated between 71 and 76 patients.
Given the rise in cases, Sovah Health’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sheranda Gunn-Nolan has provided a video update for the community. Dr. Gunn-Nolan shares information about the urgent need for our community to wear a mask, socially distance and have proper hand hygiene. She also provides personal testimony on receiving both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine as well as information about the vaccine.
We strongly urge our community to continue to follow the guidelines by masking, practicing social distancing, and frequent hand hygiene. At this time, our hospitals have adequate capacity to meet patient needs, including in critical care and intensive care.
