Founded in 2008 by William J. Walsh, PhD, FACN, an internationally recognized expert on biochemical imbalances, the Walsh Research Institute is dedicated to unraveling the biochemistry of mental disorders and development of improved clinical treatments through scientific research and medical practitioner education.
The mission of the Walsh Research Institute is to bring the benefits of advanced biochemical therapy to millions of persons challenged by ADHD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, clinical depression, behavior disorders, autism, and neurodegenerative disorders, conduct research studies into a range of mental disorders and train doctors around the world in advanced, drug-free biochemical treatment of these disorders.
The institute's primary goals are to:
- Gain better understanding of these disorders through scientific research
- Develop advanced nutrient therapy protocols
- Establish and operate high-quality, reasonably-priced nonprofit clinics
-Establish an international physician-training program
-Educate the public and the medical community by preparation of journal articles, books, and participation in technical meetings and conferences
Walsh Research Institute’s current research includes studies in DNA methylation in individuals with schizophrenia, the role of epigenetics in autism prevention and mental health, oxidative stress in disease condition s, and underlying causes of bipolar disorder. Dr. Walsh directs international physician training programs which have resulted in over 500 physicians from 32 countries educated in his non-drug, advanced nutrient therapy protocols.
