When Anjelah Johnson-Reyes first took the internet by storm, it was with the hilarious characters she created: Tammy, the nail lady, and Mad TV’s Bon Qui Qui. She’s now come full circle with her sixth comedy special, “Say I Won’t,” which she produced and financed, released on YouTube, and which has over two million views. Anjelah talks with me about the future of the comedy business, writing her book Who Do I Think I Am?, breaking into showbiz by becoming an Oakland Raiderette cheerleader and balancing her performing career and motherhood, especially when she joked she didn’t want kids (don’t worry, she’s changed her mind).
