Filmed flying over Friedrichshafen, Germany in 1938 by American Goodyear engineer Harold G. Dick. The Graf Zeppelin II, the sister ship of the Hindenburg, was the last true Zeppelin ever flown. At 245 m (803.8 ft), both airships remain the largest aircraft ever built.
The footage was shown in the documentary "Hindenburg Disaster: Probable Cause", but the producers mistook it for the Hindenburg. Unfortunately, as far as I know there is no known colour footage of the Hindenburg or any other zeppelin - colour film was still pretty rare at the time. There are several colour photos of the LZ130 and the LZ129 (nearly all of the interior and a few of its construction and engine cars) in existence. Nonetheless, this footage of the last Zeppelin is a rare piece of history that has so often been overlooked.
Music composed by David Shire for the 1975 film "The Hindenburg".
