A group of Israeli settlers verbally abused and spat at Christian nuns on Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem, a route of religious significance which is believed to have been the path that Jesus walked on the way to his crucifixion.

The incident follows Israel revoking Easter travel permits for Palestinian Christians earlier this week, and reports by Jerusalem’s Christian community that it is increasingly facing attacks by settlers and ultranationalists.
