The Catalonia town of Tarragona held its annual human towers festival on Wednesday to celebrate Saint Magi, the town’s local patron saint.
The towers are called “Castells”, or castles in Catalan. They embody strength, balance, co-operation and togetherness.
Thousands of people flooded the square to watch various teams attempt different sorts of towers. A human tower 9 level high with three columns was a highlight.
