Today we take to the range 4 firearms, all chambered for the powerful
7.62x25mm Tokarev round.
The PPSh41 Carbine was built by TNW from an original Russian SMG parts
kit, complete with original barrel. It feeds from both drums and stick
magazines, and is a very well done rebuild of one of the coolest SMGs
of WWII. This one came from Military Gun Supply out of Texas, and I've
owned it for a few years now. Aside from the heavy trigger, I have
only good things to say about it.
The PPS43c pistol was manufactured in Radom, Poland; and imported by
I.O. Inc. It was built using an original military matching SMG,
coverted to closed bolt semi-automatic with a new receiver section. It
has nice bluing, a 10" long chromelined barrel, and a top folding
stock pinned closed to allow it to legally be classified as a pistol.
It feeds from standard PPS43 stick magazines, which are not
interchangible with those used in the PPSh41. It is reliable, a lot of
fun, and priced very reasonably considering what you get. This one is
a recent import purchased from Centerfire Systems.
The PPS43/52 carbine was originally an I.O. Radom PPS43c, which was
converted into what you see here by MK Gun Mods. The 43/52 is an
interesting and rare variant, and one you do not hear much about. The
one in the video is my old 43c, which i purchased new from I.O. back
in 2010. MKGM has converted a small number of these for my company,
Ozark Bear Arms. The wooden stock really improves the PPS43c in terms
of comfort and accuracy.
Finally, we have a short bonus video of a WWII Soviet-Russian Tokarev
TT33. It was manufactured in 1941 at the Tula Arsenal and is all
original and matching. It is a non-refurb, so it has some wear, but it
still runs very well and is literally a blast to shoot. Unfortunately,
the car did not exactly agree, as the muzzle blast was sufficient to set the alarm off. Check back later for a full video on
the Tokarev series.
