Pegmatites are a type of rock, or really an intrusion in a body of rock, that forms in a unique way that results in rare minerals, precious gems, and huge crystals! Great sources of huge Quartz and tourmaline crystals, plus some have topaz and garnets. These are even a source of lithium!
