COVID-19 Protection
ENT surgeons are exposed to a high reservoir of viral load as they are dealing with the nose and airway. In this video, Professor Hess demonstrates which precautions must be taken when dealing with patients potentially infected with SARS-CoV-2. Furthermore, he provides many useful instructions and tips for:
- endoscope handling with regard to infectious secretions,
- a safe handover of the endoscope to the assistant and
- aerosol reduction in the air.
An important part of the clip is devoted to decongestion and application of topical anesthesia as well as the preventive measures when taking patients´ history.
