In the past weeks, we received hundreds of video submissions for the Apnea Squat Challenge. You can check out the leaderboard here: [ Ссылка ].
Seeing such a global community was incredible, and now we want to take it to next level with the Apnea Squat RELAY.
*APNEA SQUAT RELAY*
This challenge is all about strategy, creativity, and team work.
Here is how you can participate:
1. Create a team of minimum 4 members
2. Have a video call with all team members and record it in gallery mode (check your setting beforehand)
3. As a team, begin a breath-hold.
- Make sure every individual times their breath-hold (points)
- Time begins when everyone is standing and holding their breath
4. 1st person in the team begins a set of 5 apnea squats. When they’re finished, signal OK for the next person to begin. Stay on a breath-hold and remain standing.
5. 2nd person begins their set of 5 apnea squats and signals OK for the next person.
6. Relay until the whole team participates.
7. Complete as many rounds as possible.
8. When someone in the team begins to breathe, signal an X so everyone can see that person is out and take note of their time.
9. The relay continues, so make sure the following person is ready to complete the set.
10. The last person in the team can complete as many squats as possible
IMPORTANT to keep in mind
* Once the breath-hold begins, all participants must remain standing.
* Someone in the team must be doing their set of squat at all times. This is not a group STA, it’s a relay.
* Everyone must participate in doing *sets* of 5 squats. Only the last team member standing is allowed to do more.
* When you are done with your breath-hold...CHEER FOR YOUR TEAM!
Previous Challenge rules continue:
* Wear nose clip or mask
* Perform on a side angle and the best form possible (check out Squat Tutorial ([ Ссылка ]) for reference)
* Upload to IGTV or Facebook on a public profile. Tag us @molchanovsfreediving and the #molchanovschallenge #molchanovsmovement
* One person (Team Captain) uploads the video for the whole team
* Include team score
* Tag or name team members and Freediver ID (if they have one)
POINTS
1 second = 1 point for EACH individual team member
1 squat = ___ point. TOTAL squats performed by the whole team.

4 members : 20 points per squat
5 members : 19 points per squat
6 members : 18 points per squat
7 members : 17 points per squat
8 members : 16 points per squat
9 members : 15 points per squat
10 members : 14 points per squat
11 members : 13 points per squat
12 members : 12 points per squat
13 members : 11 points per squat
14 members : 10 points per squat
15 members : 9 points per squat
16 members : 8 points per squat
17 members : 7 points per squat
18 members : 6 points per squat
19 members : 5 points per squat
20 members : 4 points per squat
21 members : 3 points per squat
22 members : 2 points per squat
23 members : 1 points per squat
24+ members : 1 points per squat

We are encouraged to stay at home. That doesn’t mean we can’t continue our freediving practice. Freediving is not merely happening in the water. There is so much we can practice from home that will improve our performance in the water. Let’s embrace this time of solitude to create new routines and ways of living. In the face of solitude, community carries on.
