The 7th stage of the Tour de France is flat so we remain on all fours in Half and Full Balancing Table pose.
This pose is great for strengthening lower back and abdominals. This pose also strengthens the shoulders and strengthens, lengthens the gluteus muscles and hamstrings. Balance is also improved as is concentration especially in full pose when coordinating upper and lower body movements - all important for cycling.
As in table top, ensure that shoulders above wrists, hips above knees. Inhale as lift leg so parallel with mat, pressing heel towards back of mat. Keep hips aligned. Exhale as lower knee. Repeat on other leg. If comfortable, progress to raising opposite arm as inhale until parallel with mat. Reach forward with hand, press back with heel. Length along arm and back of leg. Lengthen spine. Hips aligned. Exhale as lower hand, knee. Repeat other arm, leg. If any discomfort In the wrists or back, return to table top or Child’s pose.
