This is Part 3 of the Cathars Series!

Were the Cathars gnostic? Eh....not really (except for that whole "all matter" is evil and the creator God sucks for putting us here pert).
But overall? They had differing viewpoints than the Roman Catholics. Think of it in the same way that there are 4,300 denominations of Christianity currently. BUT at this time the Catholics controlled all of Christianity, and any interpretation outside the Papal one, was heresy and there for people had to die (in their opinion).

There's some historical debate on if this was ACTUALLY the point of the Spanish Inquisition, but there is also a fun myth that the Cathars were to return in the future, their beliefs sort of springin to life in the same bloodline as those who were killed. And from France their ideas would spread once again.
