Max Payne is a third-person shooter action game series. It has thus far only spanned three games, all released across separate platforms (including the first game being released on the GameBoy Advance and mobile platforms. But across its three releases, the games consistently reviewed well, with the commercial performance seeing variance.

Yet despite this variance in sales, the franchise 7.5 million in sales to its name - a figure that many releases only hope to see. It's been a few years since the last release in 2012, and no word of a sequel since then.
