Historic Leipers Fork and Pucketts Grocery and Berry Farms Hampton Inn Hotel & Room Tour. On our way back from the Johnny Cash Hideaway Farm in Bon Aqua, Tennessee, we stopped off at historic Leipers Fork and had a late lunch at the equally historic Pucketts' Grocery - the first one to open. We spend around an hour in Leipers Fork at Pucketts Grocery and looking around the several gift shops there. We've also included a hotel and room tour of Berry Farms Hampton Inn & Suites which was our last hotel stop on our Tennessee Trip. A relatively new hotel, Berry Farms Hampton Inn & Suites was an impressive chain hotel and highly recommended if you are ever in the Franklin area - the Interstate is just a short drive away and you can be in Nashville in 30 mins or Franklin in 15 mins.
Carl Sweeney Home 1892."
SIAN - "Room and board"
ME - "1892 Restaurant." "Thomas Carl House 1892."
"We do lunch and dinner as well"
Creek Gallery
The sofa looks comfortable doesn't it?
"Please do not sit on me"
SIAN - What's it made of then?
ME - Stone.
SIAN - That is clever.
It's clever that is, because it looks like a sofa.
ME - Leipers Gallery
SIAN - What's that? 'Country'...what?
It's just a store is it?
[music]
ME - " The more I get to know some people the more I like dogs"
SIAN - "Hey y'all". I like that!
[music]
ME - So we're going to eat in Puckett's Grocery and Restaurant here in Leiper's Fork.
SIAN - Is this the original one?
ME - I believe it is. I'll have to check that but I thinks this was the first...
SIAN - We've been in the Nashville one and now we're going in this one.
ME - There's one in Franklin as well which we haven't been in.
So we're in the original Puckett's Grocery in Leiper's Fork
SIAN - Nothing's changed in here for a long time.
ME - No. It's more....
SIAN - There's stuff to buy there as well.
ME - Yeah.
It's more more true to its roots than the Nashville one obviously
which is a more modern take on Puckett's Grocery. And there's one in Franklin as well which is again, is a more modern establishment, but this one retains its original charm. Plastic cutlery.
See if the food's good!
Cheeseburger and fries and grilled cheese and sweet potato fries. Alright?
SIAN - Yeah.
ME - Yeah, the burger is nice. Freshly made. Good.
[music]
This is the Hampton Inn and Suites in Berry Farms
just outside Franklin.
This is our...
last day and to be fair - it's a relatively new hotel - but still, quite impressed with this so far.
Walking through the door we've got a sink area with ice bucket, fridge....
let's try opening it the right way - fridge, microwave,
a coffee maker on a slide-out drawer.
Sofa.
I don't know if it's a pull-out bed. Yeah it's a pull-out bed as well.
Desk area.
Usual widescreen TV.
What have we got in here?
Storage space as baskets.
King-size bed.
And the bathroom then is behind...
a sliding door.
And there's the iron and ironing board.
Case...thingy!
Towels on a...
pull-out drawer as well.
Hair dryer
The towels - they weren't that messy. That was me!
A big mirror and then the separate...
toilet and shower room.
A nice walk-in shower.
Very nice!
Yeah, all in all - and we haven't got too bad a view from up here as well.
Got some building work going on over there but still...
It's overlooking the pool area
Nobody in there although it's quite warm enough.
That's the - what do you call it? - porte cochere.
It's sort of out the back.
It's handy because it's...
literally just a quarter mile that way is the interstate going up to Nashville because this is about 30 minutes south of downtown Nashville where we are now.
Just beyond the trees there - you can't see it - is a small little shopping area with a Publix as well. All in all, quite impressed with this.
