Far up in the north the light is different. The landscapes expand to distances that almost feel unreachable – an endless play of tundra, water and ice. Time moves slow. Once they arrive, night and day, darkness and light seem to last for an eternity.
Little by little everything shifts from one extreme to the other. The extreme is the constant. The pull from one to the other is so strong that everything that remains in-between can be missed in a blink of an eye.
This sensibility is reflected in the new collection of knits by Woolish. Inspired by the light, landscapes and plant life of the far north, the collection as a whole evokes a slow seasonal change. The colours and patterns of the pieces capture the cool summer days filled with light as well as the long cold and dark winters and the characteristic natural environment: the tundra with its modest, yet remarkable plant life, arctic waters and the many faces of ice, and the remarkable pink and orange dusks and dawns. The collection consists of fine merino wool garments, making sure the wearer never feels the coolness of the cold climate too close to their skin, allowing to stay in the moment long enough to notice even the smallest changes.
