LEAD IN:
International hair stylists have descended on Kiev for the ninth annual perfume and cosmetics exhibition - InterCharm Ukraine.
The hairstyles and wild make up set the trends for 2011.
STORYLINE:
Vibrant cosmetics framed by wild curls.
Neon pink eye shadow and exaggerated black lashes, plus a Minnie Mouse bow to compliment this blonde surfer-style hair-do.
But the girls here aren't getting ready for a Friday night in Kiev - they're modelling at InterCharm, the annual perfume and cosmetics exhibition.
Now in its ninth year, the show attracts the cream of European hair stylist talent, including famous names such as Schwarzkopf and Wella.
Here Italian hair dresser Luca Gennari demonstrates his latest styles to show visitors at the Kiev ExpoPlaza exhibition centre.
Although his model doesn't look too comfortable with her styling.
Everywhere you look more models are showing off the latest look.
These sparkly, diamante encrusted straightening irons belong to British stylist Stacey Broughton.
He's giving classes, demonstrating his his latest looks.
Broughton was senior art director of the Vidal Sassoon Academy and played a key role in developing the Vidal Sassoon 'look' through their seasonal collections.
He is regarded as one of the industry's best teachers, and has trained some of the top talent - such as recent British Hairdresser of the Year Akin Konzi.
The show is as much about the make up as the hair.
Even a shock blue and white mohawk can't detract from the expertly designed face paint.
This model's look is more subtle, with a delicate pastel floral design above the eyes and bright red lipstick.
Here blue hair is wound in a spiral above the head and the blue, black and white make up conjures images of an other-worldly Empress.
And how about this for the ultimate hair accessory?.
Larger than the model's head, these white spiral shapes weave through her hair and give the impression of a modern art installation.
Although the styles might appear outlandish, subtler versions will filter down to the high street salons around the world, dictating the trends for 2011.
Many of the international exhibitors here are keen to meet and greet and build contacts within the Ukraine - the third largest cosmetic's market in eastern Europe.
The InterCharm show ran from February 9 - 11.
