In this video, we are going to prepare Ramadan Nombu Kanji. Especially for the bachelors who are living far away from their families during these Quarantine period. I got this recipe from my friend's mother.
Ingredients required:
1. Oil 2 table spoons
2. Bay leaves 2
3. Jeers some
4. 3 chopped onions (medium size)
5. 4-5 chopped green chilis (small size)
6. 1 big size chopped tomato (big size)
7. Chicken Keema 300 grams (smashed chicken meat)
(you can use any other meat)
8. Soaked Rice and Moon dal in 2:1 ratio
9. Water (for 1 cup rice, add 4 cups of water)
10. Add some mint and coriander

What is Nombu Kanji? (for non Indians)
Definition:
Nonbu kanji (நோன்பு கஞ்சி) is kind of porridge made mainly of rice, lentils, spices and other items. Usually it is prepared during the holy month of Ramadan when muslims fast for 30 days.
Mosques in the south Indian states of Tamil Nadu,Kerala and Sri Lankan Muslims distribute the kanji before the sunset prayers during the holy month of Ramadan when muslims observe fasting during the day time for 30 days. The nombu kanji provides one way of offering help to the needy – ensuring nourishment for those who might not have enough to fill their stomach after a long day's fast. nombu kanji, with its rice and lentil base, offers a nutritious and accessible meal after a long day's fast.
