When the starter is removed, you can still test it with a battery to see if it’s working. We’re looking at three different starter designs, and how your testing will vary from one to the other.
Our first design is self contained, with a solenoid and bendix both in the unit. We’re also looking at a unit with a bendix and a separate solenoid. Finally, we’ll test a unit with a separate solenoid, but no bendix.
