Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated on Thursday that he is "prepared to fight alongside Russians from the territory of Belarus in one case only, if at least one soldier from there comes to Belarus to kill my people."
Speaking to journalists at a news conference in Minsk, Lukashenko continued by adding, "if they commit aggression against Belarus, there will be the toughest response. And the war will take on a whole new nature.”
Belarus and Russia hold regular military drills near the Belarusian-Ukrainian border, which stretches for 1,084 kilometres.
