And we're off! The Odyssey opens with our lovely Telemachus facing the destructive suitors as they take over his home in his dad's absence. Not the best situation. Luckily, the goddess Athena is on his side and comes down to whip this soon-to-be man-of-the-house into shape.

CYCLOPS NOTE: ACCORDING TO HOMER, THE CYCLOPS' WERE ALL CHILDREN OF POSEIDON. THIS DIFFERS IN OTHER SOURCE MATERIAL - MOST NOTABLY HESIOD, WHO WAS WRITING AT THE SAME TIME.
