Recreate your favorite sub sandwiches and try making your own subway bread from scratch! Making these light and soft breads may sound and look intimidating but it's easy once you get a hold of it. Plus, it only requires seven ingredients to make a fresh batch!

Ingredients:
1 cup water, warm (110 degrees F)
1½ tbsp yeast
1 tbsp granulated sugar
1½ tsp salt
4 tbsp olive oil
3½ cups all-purpose flour, sifted
Butter, melted, for brushing

⬇️ How to make Homemade Subway Bread ⬇️
0:14 In the bowl of your stand mixer, add the water, yeast, sugar, salt, and olive oil. Combine the mixture for 5 minutes.
0:25 Add 1 cup of flour, then mix with the dough using the hook attachment for 3 to 5 minutes. Add an additional cup of flour and mix until well combined.
0:35 Continue adding the flour, ¼ cup at a time until a soft dough is formed. The dough should still stick to the bottom of the bowl but pull away from the sides.
0:41 Let the dough mix for around 8 minutes.
0:44 When the dough has come together but is still sticking a bit to the bottom of the bowl, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Then, knead with your hands until smooth. The dough should be very soft.
0:50 Shape the dough into a ball and return it to the bowl.
0:55 Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and allow the dough to rise for 30 minutes in a warm area.
0:59 After the dough has risen, turn it out onto a clean surface and divide it into four.
1:05 Roll each piece of dough into long, skinny loaves that are about 9 to 10 inches long.
1:10 Place the rolled loaves onto a baking sheet lined with parchment or a baking mat. Repeat with the rest of the dough. Allow at least 2 inches in between each loaf on the pan.
1:21 Cover the loaves with a damp cloth and allow the loaves to rise for about an hour until doubled.
1:25 Towards the end of the rising time, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
1:28 When the loaves are ready, bake them in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
1:32 Take the loaves out of the oven, then brush the top with melted butter.
1:35 Cover them with a dish towel to cool for at least 30 minutes.
1:39 Cut down the middle, and start adding in your subway toppings and fixings. Enjoy!
