During the 2019 Las Vegas Summer League, the National Basketball Coaches Association (NBCA) teamed up with Athletic Heart to provide free Health and Heart Screenings for all NBA Coaches which allowed them to gather the necessary information about their health and make a game plan to address any potential issues that arise from the various test results. During these screenings, the Coaches have the ability to visit with multiple medical practitioners, all in one place to save considerable time and resources. These screenings included an electrocardiograph, an echocardiogram, a carotid ultrasound, blood work, and other consultations with a cardiologist and other professionals. Through these extensive screenings, the NBCA has not only been able to help identify possible cardiac, vascular and blood abnormalities, but also to educate its members on the importance of heart health including exercise, nutrition and sleep.
The NBCA will continue to provide a Health and Heart Screening at future NBA Las Vegas Summer Leagues for all Head and Assistant Coaches.
