This is an absolutely gorgeous amethyst geode with large, dark-purple crystals, collected from the famous amethyst mines near Artigas, Uruguay. The geode itself is 31.8" tall, but it stands just over 54" tall including the custom metal display stand. The shape of this section of geode resembles the peel of a freshly consumed orange slice, except it has crystals and is a rock.
The edge of this amethyst geode has been polished and the crystals within the geode bear excellent color. The "rind" has been polished along each edge to show off the mineral transition layers between the rock and amethyst crystals. We can pretty much guarantee this incredible specimen will look even better in person than in the photos.
This stunning specimen includes the custom metal display stand shown in the photos. The geode measures 31.8" tall, 15.1" wide at its widest point and is about 12" deep. On the stand, this specimen stands just over 54" (4'6") tall. Including the base, this specimen weighs 130 lbs.
