Earlier this spring we headed north to visit Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. And along the way, we hit some pretty rough roads. When we returned to North Carolina, we had quite a few repairs to make! This was the first. The front part of our speaker cover came off and because water could now get behind it, we went on the hunt to replace it.

Finding the part was a bit more challenging then we anticipated. We were hoping that it was just a snap on cover but we ended up needing to replace the whole speaker. But, the speaker on the camper was discontinued. We have seen them on newer campers, so we likely could have obtained from our dealer or the camper manufacturer. But, we were hoping to find one a bit cheaper. And we finally found it at Walmart.com for less than $30. It is the same size and same screw pattern so no new holes in the camper.

But, the quick connect electrical contacts are a different size so it did require us to find and install some 3/16 or 4.8mm quick connect spade connectors on the existing wiring.

Overall, this project would take about 20 - 30 minutes and much of that time would be spent cleaning up the area of the old caulking.

But, as we talk about at the end of the video - this swap out is a temporary fix. We have a mod coming up that will hopefully make this area a bit more useful to us, as we don't use the speaker. We bought the speaker before deciding to do this upcoming mod, so we thought it might be helpful to some of you to show how easy a repair this is!
