I’d been hanging out for this event - the 2021 TT2000, starting and finishing in Oamaru.
Coming from Auckland, the COVID-19 lockdown was lifted just in time to be able to make the start. It was touch and go.
The Scottish theme for the event was great - so I was really excited to plan and complete the event, and connect with other riding buddies - as well as meet more riders.
This video is day one. The previous day I’d ridden from Auckland to Amberley. Then this morning from Amberley to Oamaru. So there was already a fair mileage under the belt.
The roads were epic, the fun ‘off the chart.’ So pleased to have made it and huge thanks to Wayne Poll and other organisers for making this kind of experience available.
To follow, will be Day 2 & 3 of the event.
Thanks to all of the other riders.
