An amazing simple and delicious hearty meal that can be eaten with chapati, Pitta or rice.
Ingredients
1 cup soaked Moong dal
4 - 5 Chopped garlic
300g Chopped Spinach
2 tbsp Oil or Ghee
Pinch hing
1 1/2 tbsp Cumin Seeds
1 1/2 salt (adjusted to taste)
2tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Jeera Powder
Directions
- In a pan add in the butter or oil
- Add in the chopped garlic and let it slightly brown
- Add in the Hing followed by the cumin seeds
- Place the spinach in the pan and cover the lid to allow the vegetable to steam.
- Next add in the lentils
- Followed by further chopped garlic
- Mix well before adding in the Salt and Turmeric Powder, Jeera Powder and allow to simmer until the water has evaporated.
- Add further butter if desired and serve.
