Superhero stories have been incredibly popular in all entertainment media for as long as anyone can remember, and that, of course, is true of video games as well, especially with the massive explosion in popularity the genre has seen over the last decade or so.
From games adapting popular licensed properties to those offering new and original experiences, there has been an abundance of games that have allowed players to indulge in their childhood power fantasies, and a great many of them have done an excellent job of it.
