Fashion Filmmaking might seem like a difficult world to gain access too -- luckily, Stephen Issac-Wilson is on hand to help you work out how to do it.
As a filmmaker, Stephen has worked with the likes of i-D, Tate and Vogue, and made music videos for top artists. Having studied politics at University, becoming a director might not have seemed the obvious choice, but Stephen's unconventional journey makes him even better placed to advise you on yours.
In this workshop, we invite you to create a film which could potentially be featured on i-D. All we need is for you to complete the following task:
- Create a video no longer than 60 seconds.
- The video can be about anything, but it has to reflect your culture and the world you inhabit, and you must collaborate with people you know. If your friend is a singer, make a mini music video for them. A dancer? Then collaborate on a film. If someone you know has an interesting story to tell then tell it, work together to find a way to do so. That's the work of a director, and the best can condense sometimes difficult to communicate ideas into something short and simple to understand.
- You should aim to collaborate with up to four people, and tell us the roles of the people involved below.
- The video should be delivered via WeTransfer as a .mov or MP4
- You should please not spend money on your film
- Please be responsible paying attention to all local Covid-19 guidance
To upload your video you should use WeTransfer. WeTransfer explains how to create a link here:
