Pancreatic cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States. At Penn Medicine, our doctors and researchers are taking action to create more options and better strategies for pancreatic cancer treatment.
The Penn Pancreatic Research Center is attacking this problem from multiple angles. Our team includes nationally-recognized oncologists, scientists, surgeons, gastroenterologists and pathologists, all working together to create personalized treatment plans from the most advanced therapies available, including clinical trials.
Clinical trials are state-of-the-art therapies, such as immunotherapy, that extend pancreatic cancer treatment beyond chemotherapy, surgery and radiation. Our clinical trials are designed to provide what we call “hope for all stages.”
We also offer support for people working through the often scary time following diagnosis. Our team includes a talented nurse navigator to guide patients through every phase of care.
The Penn Pancreatic Research team shares one mission: to turn pancreatic cancer into a chronic, treatable illness.
“Our outcomes are better not just because our treatments are better, but because our care is better.” - Ursina Teitelbaum, MD, Clinical Director of the Pancreatic Cancer Research Center
