On Thursday, May 10, 2018, a protest by teachers in Tehran became violent after protesters were attacked by the Iranian regime’s suppressive security forces. The police brutally targeted female protesters.
The protesting teachers held banners which complained about a low education budget and an income which provided them less than the equivalent for the country’s poverty line.
The protest in Tehran was held outside the office of the Plan and Budget Organization.
There were similar protests by teachers on May 10 in other Iranian cities.
