As of yesterday, yellow jackets and these European Hornets have shown up at the bee yard. They take honey bees, cut off the heads and abdomens and then fly the thorax back to feed the larvae.
My current wasp trap recipe is:
2- table spoons of concord jelly
4- oz of pure apple juice
1/4 teaspoon of baker's yeast
Our most successful trap is: [ Ссылка ]
When the wasp trap is full, just place it in soapy hot water and rinse it out, then replace in the same location.
They will be putting pressure on your beehives, so it's time to observe and make sure your landing boards have appropriate sized entrance reducers so your bees can successfully defend themselves.
