I'd like to do a follow up on this, see if it is still standing in a few months.
By 'Natural Experiment' I mean some city, or ideally pairs of cities, which either recently implemented or repealed a really broad 'historical protection' act and has data on the ages of all of the buildings in the cities somehow available. I get the feeling this exists somewhere in the world... I just don't know what to google to find it.
If you know of a good example of a city which has made this change, that's what I want to hear about.
