Living in Downtown Indianapolis | The Wholesale District... There are several parts to downtown Indianapolis, Indiana and the Wholesale District is one of them. It's also one of the 7 cultural districts you'll find in Indianapolis. You can live in many different parts of the downtown area, as it's officially bigger than what most might think but the Wholesale District is the most iconic. Or, the Wholesale District at least contains many of the places that make Indianapolis, Indiana what it is. There are all kinds of options for living in downtown Indianapolis but they're a little more limited in the Wholesale District. That's primarily due to the commercial nature of the area. However, if you enjoy living in what many would consider the heart of downtown Indianapolis, Indiana then the Wholesale District could be for you.
