Here is a commentary of the action plan for modernization of the New York City Transit system into the 21st century. NYCT President Andy Byford unveiled his plans to install Communications Base Train Control (CBTC) on several lines throughout the entire subway. This plan stretches up to 10 years. This includes over new 3650 subway cars, over 1200 CBTC-retrofited cars, state of the art repair work on over 150 station which some of them are part of the enhanced station initiative program.
