A man was shot and killed by an officer near a gas station Monday night, according to DeKalb Police.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said they are responding to the incident.

Just before 8:30 p.m. on Monday, officers were called to a homicide just off Cedar Croft Court in Lithonia.

As they searched for the the person involved in that incident, the GBI said officers came upon a man armed with a rifle less than a mile from the Shell gas station on Covington Highway.
