How does the weight of Litelok Gold compare to other bike locks? In this video we demonstrate how lightweight Litelok Gold is, by weighing it against a typical U lock and chain lock, using balance scales. And the winner is Litelok Gold! It’s no surprise as Litelok Gold weighs just 1.1 Kg (2.4 lbs), which is much lighter than comparable locks of the same security rating. But weight alone does not give you the whole picture. We have created a new metric called the Lock Mass Index (LMI) which is calculated by dividing the weight of lock in kilograms by the lock’s length or circumference in metres. The lower the LMI calculation, the better, for a given security bracket such as Sold Secure Gold. For more information about the LMI please visit our website here: [ Ссылка ]
Litelok Gold was invented by Prof Neil Barron. Neil has over 25 years of design experience, running a designing consultancy called Gusto. Through Gusto he has worked with clients like Boots and Intel, designing award winning products. The idea for Litelok Gold came after Neil had many of his bikes stolen, and fed up with carrying around cumbersome bike locks. Neil and his team developed a new composite material called Boaflexicore which is light, flexible and strong.
