Neurotransmitters also become depleted, including serotonin and GABA, this can lead to brain fog, & unwanted mood changes, making it near impossible for you to cope or focus on your work.
On top of this, your sympathetic nervous system has become overactive, while the parasympathetic nervous system function has reduced.
And here’s why this is important. Your sympathetic nervous system controls your fight or flight response. This affects your sleep quality, detoxification & your immune system making you susceptible to colds & flus. This can also impact digestion & your ability to absorb nutrients from your diet, sending you into a downward spiral that you need to slam the brakes on immediately.
While the parasympathetic system regulates rest & digest functions. This is the system we want to activate to ease the taxes placed on you by constantly being in a state of fight or flight.
