We recommend using good headphones or good speakers when watching this video, as the purpose is to demonstrate the sounds.
The Valter Percussion ALUDU is an aluminum udu style drum, its unique design makes it extremely playable and offers a huge range of sounds. Its durable and compact construction makes it suitable for touring and with the built-in mic it is the most user-friendly udu on the market.
The sound is very close to its ceramic counterpart, yet even more responsive as the aluminum shell is much thinner than a normal udu. The durable textured coating also allows for other effects and sounds like our new Finger Brush (optional) so you'll have the brush effects within reach whenever you wish, with both hands free.
In this video, Valter Percussion founder/designer/builder Valter Kinbom demonstrates some of the possibilites of connecting the ALUDU to the Zoom A1X Four pedal. As the ALUDU’s built in mic is a condenser, an adapter with phantom power for the mic is required to connect it to the Zoom unit.
The Zoom A1X Four (and the A1 Four) have onboard EQ that can be used to tame the frequencies which can cause feedback in loud environments, so the player can control this in a live situation, rather than relying on a mixer/sound engineer.
There are also a number of effects available for the Zoom pedal via their Zoom Guitar Lab. More info here:

The audio was recorded with the ALUDU’s mic system plugged straight into the Zoom A1X Four (via a phantom power adapter), then the signal going out of the Zoom is what you hear (no other effects were added in the mix, apart from a slight touch of compression/limiting for added output volume). We also had the ALUDU/Zoom A1X Four signal amplified in the room, to be able to demonstrate the EQ-ing of the feedback-prone frequencies at the start of the video.
