Oxytocin is incredibly important when it comes to our social lives. But despite the popular misconception, it is not simply a hormone that makes you feel loving toward others. Love–and all other emotions–are the result of brain activity patterns, which are influenced by neuromodulators like oxytocin, but not produced by them.
