Rattenberg, a historical jewel and the smallest city in Austria, The city is also known as the city of glass and crystal. Many beautiful shops. it is situated in the Kufstein region between the river Inn and a rock massif on which stands a castle and a massive fortress.
An ancient fortress built in the 10th century rises high above Rattenberg. The town itself has a charming medieval center with narrow streets, diverse shops and brightly colored, beautifully restored town houses.
Rattenberg is famous for its ancient glass-making tradition, which is why it is sometimes called the "city of glass". Thanks to the many restaurants, delicatessens and regular farmers' markets, visitors have countless opportunities to taste something of the local cuisine. Throughout the year, the town hosts a number of events, mostly indoors in the Veranstaltungszentrum Malerwinkel complex, outdoor ones are worth mentioning, for example the Schlossbergspiele summer festival, or the widely acclaimed Christmas markets.
