Devin Allen’s photography was born out of love for his community in Baltimore. He grew up with hardship, but his experiences became the foundation of his work. In 2015, at the beginning of his career, he was published on the cover of Time for his coverage of the protests in his city after the death of Freddie Gray. Today, he continues to share his own authentic experience in order to shine a light on his community. He uses his voice and his talents to give back, to show things can get better, and to show there is power in telling honest stories about humanity. He uses his photography to drive meaningful conversations and help others understand and learn about injustice in the real world. His impact is incredible, not only for his community, but in his inspiration of others looking to use their talents to drive change as well.
