The wood siding on my house had a large crack in it which can lead to water intrusion, moisture intrusion, pests, etc. Sealing it up is imperative, as is sealing any exposed wood around your house! This method can be applied to any interior or exterior wood that's either rotted or is exposed. It can be used for the bottom of wood trim, gates, fences and other areas wood rot is common.

Keep in mind that I'm a little messy with this because I'm outside and don't really care about how it looks- more about how it functions. If you are making any repair inside or over anything that needs to be protected, you should use plenty of drop cloths and painters tape!
