This is such a beautiful and hard hitting song. The lines resonated the first time I heard it, hell they resonate every time I hear it.

I've always loved Mat Kearney, not just because we're both musicians from Eugene Oregon (Go Ducks) but because his honesty and insight into the depth of the every day and mundane human struggles we all share are so powerful. Thank you Mat for the songs you write. Ships in the Night was the first one to punch me in the face.
