Hey, guys! Check your smoke alarms, because the firefighters from Seattle Fire Station 19 will be BACK, as ABC renews Station 19 for Season 6! The renewal came just eight episodes into the currently airing fifth season, which is on a winter break till February 24. Such vote of confidence from ABC for an early renewal comes from very solid Season 5 ratings. Halfway through the season, the Grey’s Anatomy spin-off is averaging 6.5 million total viewers per episode, ranking second among all ABC dramas. By the way, Grey’s Anatomy, which was rumored to end with the current Season 18, was JUST renewed for another season as well. This means we can expect more great crossover episodes in the future, like a three-episode crossover event in November 2020. Krista Vernoff will be back as showrunner for both shows. Jason George, who started on Grey’s, will be back as Ben Warren, joined by Jaina Lee Ortiz, Boris Kodjoe, Grey Damon, Barrett Doss and Jay Hayden.
