The famous version of "Cry Me A River" by Julie London is one of the few earlier jazz recordings where a guitar really stands out as an accompaniment instrument (jazz guitar legend Barney Kessel does a wonderful job). I have been asked a couple of times to work on that guitar version in lessons. I finally decided to do a simple solo guitar arrangement of this beautiful song.
The arrangement is gradually evolving from a basic chord/melody style to a more intermediate arrangement. Starting in the second part of the song you will find a little more difficult chord voicings as well as counter lines to the melody.
All in all, also due to the slow ballad style of the song, I recommend this arrangement to beginning fingerstyle jazz guitarists.
